VACANCY – PART-TIME CLERK

18 hours per week. (Flexible working time including evenings depending on requirements.)  The hourly rate for this role will be from £10.34/hour to £11.63/hour depending on experience and qualifications.  It is desirable that the Clerk works from home and lives within the Pennard ward.  Applicants must have the ability to travel locally and may be subject to a DBS check.

 CLOSING DATE:  5.00 pm Monday 28th November 2016

Main duties include:

  • Issue notices, prepare agendas and documents for meetings
  • Take minutes at Committees and Full Council meetings
  • Liaise with Councillors, contractors, members of the public
  • Ensure Council policies are adhered to
  • Update Council website regularly
  • Manage Community Hall and Field bookings
  • Arrange Burials and manage Community Burial Ground

12 hours per calendar month averaged over a year. (Flexible working time including evenings depending on requirements.)  The hourly rate for this role will be from £10.34/hour to £11.63/hour depending on experience and qualifications.  It is desirable that the Responsible Financial Officer works from home and lives within the Pennard ward.  Applicants must have the ability to travel locally and may be subject to a DBS check.

  • Monitor and balance monthly, quarterly and annual accounts
  • Monthly payroll and pension administration
  • Complete quarterly VAT return and Annual Return for Auditor
  • Payment of invoices and regular banking
  • Preparation of Budget in conjunction with Chair of Finance and Employment Committee
